Ridgely/Corrao (Season 2, Episode 23)

PREMISE

In the Wild Wild West of Delaware, the Ridgely family eat, sleep and breathe rodeo. Randy Ridgely is a professional bull rider, and he and Jennifer own a 61-acre ranch which is their sole source of income. Working on the ranch is 24/7 hard labor. They must feed, water and hay horses, ponies, goats, bulls, llamas, and deer and then clean manure. The Ridgelys try to instill a sense of responsibility in their kids Peyton (7) and Rylee (3), who must do chores on the barn including shoveling poop. Jennifer is strict, limiting how much candy the girls eat, setting the bedtime at 8:00 PM and they are prohibited from whining and crying. Randy and Jen are not a smoochy-kissy type couple, and Randy views Jen more like an employee than a wife.

In Ohio, Kim Corrao is an over-indulged Italian princess living la dolce vita, or the sweet life. Kim works at a luxury hair salon and spends a lot of time socializing, going out for cocktails with the girls, and flirting with men. Husband Louis believes a happy wife is a happy life and stays home to do chores and look after the kids Sofia (8) and Vittorio (6). The kids are indulged with toys, allowed to write on the walls, stay up as late as they want and don't have to do chores. Kim likes to look sexy and always finds a way to spend money.

UPDATE

Let’s start with the fight during the table meeting.

Randy commented about the fight on his Facebook on April 2, 2019.

OMG The episode of wife swap that I was on over 13 years ago was apparently aired again today🤦🏼‍♂️. So first of all if anyone is dumb enough to believe reality TV then that is your fault. Secondly if you have time to email me some threat because you saw me punch a man on tv you should have the resources to find out where I live and make the drive, don't be a coward and hide behind a computer!

There are 238 comments, mostly which either defend him or thought the whole situation was funny. Two people stated "Randy is an amazing person." One person linked to a now deleted YouTube video of the fight, stating "Here’s the part where he hits his wife!"  Randy replied "I did not hit her she got in the way of a fight and I pushed her not even knowing who it was."

Randy is the president of a business called Ridgely’s Auction Service, a 2nd generation professional auction company for over 100 years. They specialize in all facets of auctions…such as, farm equipment, residential, commercial, farm and industrial real estate, as well as business liquidations. They also conduct charity auctions and give back to their community through various organizations. They have positive reviews such as "Randy and his staff are HONEST, that can't be said for alot of auctioneers." and "The owner Randy has always been pleasant to deal with." This is surprising considering the fight.

The company is part of their overall business Wicked R Western Productions, Inc. where they use their 61-acre ranch as a tourist attraction and to host family events. Here is a video of Randy being interviewed about his business in 2020.

Randy primarily votes republican. He wrote in FB "I am not real big into politics but I am a republican and that’s how I’ve always voted that doesn’t mean I haven’t agreed with some Democrats on issues. I have plenty of friends that are Democrats Republicans and independents. I have female friends male friends black friends white friends Spanish friends Amish friends rich friends and poor friends. I did not throw a fit when President Obama was elected I just said oh well he’s our president and hope for the best and when President Trump was elected I did not throw a party I hoped for the best. But what this administration is doing to this country ( my opinion only and everyone is entitled to one) is disastrous to every working American. But since I don’t follow politics real strict I thought can I complain if I don’t do anything? That would be like complaining I never win the lottery and I don’t play it🤦🏼♂️. What I can do is get behind someone that I believe in who could make a difference in my opinion and help that person the way I know how to the best and that’s to raise money for their campaign. Lee Murphy is running for congress and I met him a few months ago and he is a real person not a lifetime politician. He called me the other night to personally thank me for helping him with his past two fundraisers and I volunteered to help with another one July 20 in Middletown Delaware. I am not going to beg anyone or promise anyone or pester anyone to attend but I will invite everyone who wants to see change. This event will be July 20 from 6 to 9 at thousand Acre Farm in Middletown Delaware and will be a fun social gathering with clay shooting ax throwing corn hole food and drink and of course a live auction💪🏻💪🏻 if you’re interested you can message me or call me but in a few days the campaign manager should have made a flyer to post🇺🇸🇺🇸 in the meantime I hope everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July weekend and think about whether you are sick of this shit yet? "

Speaking of politics, Rylee is also republican. On December 19, 2019, Rylee wore a shirt to her high school that said "President Trump 2020, Make America Great". She posted about this to Facebook, then deleted the post. Luckily Randy took a screenshot just in time. "I don’t care if either of my daughters are a republican a Democrat or independent I love them no matter what❤".

Riley is studying at Oklahoma State University. Peyton works as an event coordinator at Wicked R Western Productions, Inc. and also sells MaryKay beauty products.

Jennifer Ridgely and Randy are currently divorced. Jennifer is the head coach of the Delaware State University equestrian team, serving in the position since 2007. On March 28, 2022, Ridgely was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Coach-of-the-Year for the second time in three years. DSU is a HBCU. “I am proud of us being the only HBCU equestrian team in the country—we are really diverse,” Ridgely said. “We might be the underdogs, but we’re coming.”
