Davis/Paiss: Husband Edition (Season 1, Episode 9)
PREMISE
In Colorado Springs, Kenny Davis loves biking. He runs his own bike shop and considers motorcycling a religion. Kenny and his girlfriend Sandy Bianchi have been together for just over a year. Recently she and her 16 year old daughter Cara moved in with him and his two daughters Samantha (13) and Kaitlyn (11), but family life hasn’t always been harmonious. In spite of Kenny’s efforts to befriend Cara, she has resented him taking her mother away from her and they frequently fall out. The girls are often in the basement eating junk food and watching TV. Kenny owns 17 motorbikes, 2 cars, 4 trucks, 2 four wheelers a drag racer and a boat. They clutter up the yard and few of them function, but Kenny plans to fix them up and sell them. Kenny's neighbors don't like the messy state of his yard, and often call code enforcement on him.
In Boulder, Zev Paiss (formerly Bill) and his wife Neshama Abraham (formerly Kay) are environmentalists who live in an 11 home co-housing community called Nomad. The neighbors have meals together twice a week and there is a chore list where neighbors check off which chores they want to do. Chores are assigned points based on time and effort, and each household signs up for an equal number of chore points. Daughters Halonah (6) and Zipporah (5) are not allowed to watch television or eat candy. Zev and Neshama are concerned for the future of the planet. They recycle whenever possible and don't use vehicles that pollute the air. The family play the bongos, do yoga and participate in community rituals.

UPDATE
Zev once uploaded the episode to YouTube but it got deleted due to copyright grounds. He said he unsuccessfully tried to contact Kenny. There is a scene where Kenny asks the girls and they have been to the zoo and they said no. Halonah commented they previously have been to the zoo. They were just nervous with all the cameras around. She said Kenny was awesome she contacted ABC so they can do an update, but they didn't get back to her, and thus theorized Kenny and Sandy broke up. Kaitlyn Ragsdale replied her dad and Sandy are still together, and since they are grown and their family is apart and her parents are in Florida, it doesn't make sense to do an update.
"On July 7, 2012, Halonah and Zipporah had a B'not Mitzvah, a joint Bat Mitzvah. Neighbors from the Nomad co-housing attended the event (pdf). "our daughters participated in a community service project to contribute to Tikkun Olam, the “repair of the world.” Halonah and Zipporah volunteered with Boulder Food Rescue (BFR) to save perfectly edible food that would have gone to waste and transport the food directly to people who are hungry. Both girls took on their own weekly route where they biked walked and took the bus - carbon-free forms of transportation - to deliver produce to organizations that distribute the food on the same day to food insecue people in Boulder. ... Zipporah and Halonah have together done 50 food deliveries and rescued more than 1,000 pounds of food." The girls chanted Aliyahs during the service.
"Halonah and Zipporah get along exceptionally well with each other. … Plus, we love how Zipporah and Halonah’s voices blend together like two angels singing from the Heavens." – Zev and Neshama
