Ridgely/Corrao (Season 2, Episode 23)

PREMISE In the Wild Wild West of Delaware, the Ridgely family eat, sleep and breathe rodeo. Randy Ridgely is a professional bull rider, and he and Jennifer own a 61-acre ranch which is their sole source of income. Working on the ranch is 24/7 hard labor. They must feed, water and hay horses, ponies, goats, bulls, llamas, and deer and then clean manure. The Ridgelys try to instill a sense of responsibility in their kids Peyton (7) and Rylee (3), who must do chores on the barn including shoveling poop. Jennifer is strict, limiting how much candy the girls eat, setting the bedtime at 8:00 PM and they are prohibited from whining and crying. PREMISE In King George Virginia, DeLaura Padovan and Steve Hickman live in a rustic off-the grid cabin built by Steve and his friends 20 years ago. Because they don't have electricity the family light oil lamps and wear headlamps to see when it's dark, and store food on the porch in a cooler. Steve is a professional fiddler and hambone artist, and DeLaura calls contra and square dances. They earn about $30,000 a year combined and are not concerned with maximizing their income. The family shop for clothes at thrift stores and daughters Tara (11) and Maren (8) have never had a new outfit. Water is considered a precious commodity. The family don't always flush the toilet and share the same bath water. PREMISE In the deep south of Mississippi, Lydia Allison is an etiquette teacher. She teaches etiquette to the little southern ladies by day and her family by night. Etiquette rules include not sitting with your legs open, swallowing your burp, buttering your bread the correct way and not being a goop. "Goops are children who don't want to mind their manners" says Lydia. She, super polite husband Tim and kids Drew (16), Anne Elizabeth (14), and Margaret (11) have formal dinners together every evening. Tim does not want to be known as the parent of juvenile delinquents.
